The Rosebank Theatre will be showcasing their new, in-house production ‘The Music Shop’ from Wednesday, March 4 to 28.
The story entails an obscure vegetable store holding many a secret of a time long before. Through a series of events a widow, a farmer, a priest, a sex worker, a soldier and a drunk find much to share and remember. With the music of Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Burl Ives, McCartney, Mick Jagger, the Dubliners, and the Animals the old facade is once more transformed into The Music Shop.
This story follows the journey of six survivors who find their way back and rediscover the joys of lost songs and forgotten dances. ‘The Music Shop’ features two multi award winning actors Nicholas Ellenbogen and Liz Szymczak, who are set to perform together on the The Rosebank stage for the first time ever, and are joined onstage by UCT graduates Sive Gubangxa, Nathan Lynn, Cameron Robertson and the master musician, Robert Jeffries. The show is choreographed by the Adele Blank.
* Performances will take place from Tuesdays to Saturdays at 8pm nightly.
