Round 8 of the Power Series of motor racing will take place at Killarney Raceway this coming Saturday, October 11.
Once again the Sports & GT Section is expected to be out in full force. So far 21 Entries have been entered. The field is fairly evenly distributed with three cars in Classes A & B, five each in Classes C & D and one lone entry in Class E. Added to this there are three new Entries in Class X – Gary Fourie driving the potent Audi TT previously raced by his Father; Keith and Ian Oberholzer from Port Elizabeth in a very quick Nissan Silvia; and Divan Wentzel at the wheel of Cyril Ginsburg’s Porsche V8. These three cars will be classified after qualifying, and the organisers expect very close racing in all Classes.
As the end of the year draws near competition is hotting up as each competitor does his best to score as many points as possible in an endeavour to win the overall Championship.
The Program also includes Clubmans, Fine Cars, Classic Cars, Supercars, V8 Masters, Formula Libra and Motor Cycles.
Qualifying sessions begin at 8am and the first race starts at 9.45am. Spectators are free to walk about in the pit area where they can see the cars and drivers close up.
During the lunch break from 1.35pm to 2.05pm there will be spectator rides, so make a day of it at the race track.
