The fast and dirty sexy comedy ‘Last Rounds’ can be seen at the Alexander Bar on Strand Street until Thursday, June 19. Described by its creators as the TV show ‘Girls’ meets ‘Notting Hill’, with a dash of ‘High Fidelity’ thrown in for good measure, ‘Last Rounds’ is a biting look at love, whiskey, and good music.
It’s 2am. The final bell for last orders has been rung. The Hopeless Modern Romantic sits at the dirty bar, stirring her whiskey with a straw, watching the door for him. She’s just a girl, sitting in a bar, waiting for a boy – a boy who she realises just may not arrive. Featuring Rebecca Makin-Taylor (‘Expectant’) and written and directed by Tara Notcutt (‘The Three Little Pigs’, ‘Mafeking Road’), this will be the preview run before the show heads to the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown as part of the Cape Town Edge.
