Calling all food entrepreneurs into the Lion’s Den

Calling all food entrepreneurs into the Lion’s Den

Food Hospitality World will be giving a leg-up to South African food and hospitality entrepreneurs and businesses. Through its Lion’s Den initiative, innovators who think their products are ready to be marketed, but need guidance, input and insight, have the chance to present to an audience of opinion leaders and potential buyers.
Food Hospitality World, an exclusively trade exhibition with a global footprint, has a number of international buyers attending under the DTI inward buyer programme. Together with organisers Fiera Milano’s specially invited guests, they will critique what is on offer with an option to purchase or engage further. Food Hospitality World takes place at the CTICC from May 25 to 28.
Each innovator who is selected to enter the Lion’s Den will have 10 minutes to present their product and convince the audience that they are worthy of consideration.

Overseeing the process and judging as to who will ultimately be ‘King of the Jungle’ will be business commentator and former broadcaster, Chris Gibbons. He will be assisted by two stalking lionesses who will prowl the den and invite comment from the panel.
Cape Talk will also be crossing to its listeners with regular updates throughout the three days of the show, keeping them abreast of developments, innovation and hints and tips on how they too, can improve their chances of growing their own businesses.
Having been put through their paces with questions from the audience and Gibbons, the innovator can then enter the adjacent Lion’s Lounge for round two of more in-depth discussion with any interested parties.

The bait for getting entrants into the Lion’s Den is the business starter pack worth over R1/2-million that will be awarded to the winning pitch. This includes a stand at the 2015 Tuttofood exhibition in Milan (valued at (5000), Nielson research to the value of R250000, mentorship and product analysis by Managing Director of Product of the Year, Preetesh Sewraj (valued at R100000), and automatic entry into the Product of the Year, valued at R120000.
Any innovators who would like to enter for a chance to win the package may send an email to sarah@rainbowexp.co.za, who will then forward an application form.
