This past Monday I joined over 300 bloggers from various parts of SA, as well as some international visitors to experience something new happening in the wine region of Stellenbosch.
This event was called #Stellenblog, which was hosted in association with iAmbassador – renowned for successful blogging campaigns like #Blogville in Emilia Romagna, Italy. It saw high-ranking international travel and leisure bloggers joining top South African lifestyle and travel bloggers in a ‘connected’ villa on a working wine farm in the Winelands.
So all the ‘digital ambassadors’ were immersed in a bucket-list itinerary of sights, sounds and tastes of Stellenbosch and the broader Cape and lived the ‘Stellenbosch Way of Life’ like a local, hosted by locals in the know, for one week.
During the speeches, I heard that the underlying theme of this campaign is ‘discovery’ and the bloggers will be ‘let loose’ in Stellenbosch and surrounding areas to get up close and personal with the region and its people, uncovering and sharing secrets and stories along the way. This campaign will run until September.
This past week’s event was held at Dornier Wine Estate and saw many of the Stellenbosch wine estates showcasing their best on offer. I had a great time meeting many of the wine makers as well as the various bloggers.
