Vote David Kau at ‘Blacks Only Comedy Show’

If you need guidance on how to vote in the General Election then don’t miss David Kau’s ‘Blacks Only Comedy Show’ at the GrandWest Grand Arena on Tuesday, May 6, the day before the elections.
Public demand following the successful ‘Bling Bling Tour’ last year has led Kau to join up with Skhumba Hlope, Thapelo Tips, Loyiso Madinga, Sifiso Nene, Alan Committie, Donovan Goliath, and KG.
Kau began his comedy career by being the first black stand-up comedian in the 1998 Smirnoff Comedy Festival in Cape Town. The funny man has since headlined at many local and international comedy shows also appearing overseas at comedy festivals. For the past decade he has focused on his hugely popular ‘Blacks Only Comedy Shows’.

Hlope is well known on SABC1 as a contributor to the youth talk show ‘Mzanzi Insider’ and as Dlamini in the TV series ‘Taxi Ride’.
“Tips” Seemise will be familiar to audiences for playing the character Shampoo in ‘Taxi Ride’.
Madinga was nominated in the Newcomer of the Year category at last year’s Comics Choice Awards and is a regular on the Johannesburg comedy circuit.

Winner of the first So You Think You’re Funny award in 2009, Nene has won the Audience Choice award at the Comics Choice Awards and also the SATMA award as Best Indigenous Comedian.
Committee has for the past few years enjoyed huge success touring the country in the one man show ‘Defending the Caveman’. He is also a regular at comedy festivals.

Goliath’s comedic career started in 2010 at the Comedy Underground in Johannesburg and since then has become an established name on the comedy circuit. He has been nominated both for the Newcomer of the Year and Breakthrough categories at successive Comics Choice Awards.
Completing the line-up is Kagiso, or KG as he is better known. KG was in Cape Town earlier this year in his one man show, ‘Heavy’. In a very short time he has moved from being an open-mic comedian to being featured in club, theatre and corporate comedy.

* The show starts at 8pm and tickets are available from Computicket between R113 and R227.
