Mustang turning 50 to be commemorated at The Castle

On April 17, 1964, Ford introduced the first Mustang to the world at the New York World’s Fair. On April 13, 2014, Novel Ford and Mazda of Paarl, Goodwood and Stellenbosch and The Mustang Owners Club of South Africa celebrate 50 years of continuous production of this iconic muscle car.
The Castle of Good Hope is an ideal venue to showcase these historic machines. On show will be Mustangs ranging from the original 1964 model to the latest 2013 model. Mustangs have been in the news lately, with the much anticipated release of the talked about 2015 model – which is the star in the newly released Need for Speed – imminent.

Whether you are a lover of Mustang, appreciator of vintage cars or simply a passionate petrol head you will be in for a huge treat with the showcase of modern and vintage, Shelby and Boss, racing and cruising Mustangs.
The Mustang Club have invited other motoring clubs to join them at the Castle of Good Hope on this auspicious occasion. These include The Early Ford Club, Ford Cortina Club, Harley Davidson Club, Jaguar Club and more.

Attendees can look forward to a great vibe with various options on offer, including a live DJ, kids entertainment, a movie zone featuring Mustang over the years, pony and cart rides, exhibitions and a variety of food, including the best gourmet burger and chips from the Goodlife Food Truck featured on Masterchef, as well as curry n’ rice, ice cream for the kids and finished off with a great coffee, smoothie or iced latte.
There will be prizes for the Mustangs on display in various categories and spot prizes for the public as well. including ‘Need for Speed’ hampers and one lucky winner will win a Peninsula Tour for two in a classic Mustang and prize hamper valued at R10000.

* The doors open at 10am until 4pm. Tickets at the door are R25 for adults and R10 for scholars. The Bakoven Station of NSRI will be the beneficiary charity of the Mustang event and a percentage of the door takings on the day will go to this very worthy cause.
