With the first school holidays of the year upon Capetonians, the V&A Waterfront will once again be offering an enticing entertainment selection for the whole family.
Adults and children alike can look forward to the performers of the Zip Zap Circus as they swoop, fly and somersault effortlessly in free daily displays of breathtaking agility at the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre from March 31 to April 3.
Each day from 3pm there will be an action packed show consisting of ten acts. And for audience members who would prefer not to stand, the Waterfront is offering free pre-booked front row seating for the first 20 people to book online at www.waterfront.co.za.
The Zip Zap performers will perform segments like Adagio, consisting of an energetic mix of dance, acrobatics and human pyramids; Lunatricks, which showcases a lively comic vaulting act; Diabolo, which gives a modern twist on the yo-yo; and Hand to Hand, a humorous hand balancing act. The tightrope is a heart-stopping daring display of boldness on a silver wire sure to silence even the most blasé spectator.
Every circus needs jugglers and the speed and accuracy of Zip Zap’s dynamic juggling duo will have the audience seeing double. For pure acrobatic slapstick, the hilarious Three Boys Table Act promises to delight holiday goers. The contortionists will showcase their impressive balance and flexibility, and will be followed by the ‘one wheel wonders’ on unicycle. Ending the show will be the spirited Moyo dance finale.
Children from the Zip Zap Circus have been entertaining crowds with their agile trapeze stunts and clown acts since 1992. The Zip Zap Circus also runs a number of outreach programmes, youth programmes, artistic programmes and a welfare programme for their members who need it.
