Each year, espAfrika, the organisers of the annual Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF), ensures that as many people as possible have the chance at being part of the fun and enjoyment that is the CTIJF with a free concert on Greenmarket Square. 2014 is no exception as this year the Festival is celebrating its 15th anniversary and will present a memorable line-up that includes: Open Mic winner, Sade Ross; Tasha’s World (The Netherlands); Shakatak (UK) and; Crazy White Boy and the Arts & Focus Schools Superband. Good Hope FM’s LuWayne Wonder will be MC for the event.
The show will take place at the iconic location on Wednesday, March 26, with festivities commencing at 5pm. It is expected to finish at around 11pm.
“Each year the Festival attracts visitors from far and wide and we are proud that we have created something that has international and local appeal. But, the free concert is where our commitment to ensuring that live music can reach more people really comes alive and this year particularly as South Africa enters its 20th year of free elections, the democracy of music is even more important,” says Rashid Lombard, the founder of
