The Baxter Theatre Centre is delighted to launch the fourth annual Zabalaza Theatre Festival, and plays across four different theatre spaces in a celebration of the power of theatre to connect, entertain and educate. What started out as a small ‘community theatre’ festival in 2010 has transformed over the years into the premier showcase of upcoming drama talent in the Western Cape.

A Human Being Died That Night, a play that’s based on the book of the same name and that details psychologist Pumla Godobo-Madikizela’s interviews with notorious Apartheid regime assassin Eugene de Kock.

Robert Khalipa has been living in exile in Stockholm, Sweden, for over 30 years, with his wife, Anna Olson, who has inherited her father’s large electronic and communications company, and their daughter Ayanda, a doctor working in a hospital in Stockholm.

Kaapse Stories

This delightful musical revue celebrates the joyful, resilient spirit of the colourful people who populate the city that lies at the foot of Table Mountain. Couched in the recent history of the Cape, “Kaapse Stories” deftly relates stories of Cape Town and her people, their struggles, victories and personalities, all with a hefty dose of comedy.
