MyCiTi now serving Imizamo Yethu, Hangberg and Hout Bay

As from Saturday, February 15 MyCITi will operate along two new routes to serve the communities of Hangberg, Imizamo Yethu and Hout Bay.
The new 108 and 109 routes travels from the city centre along Somerset Road in Green Point, Main Road in Sea Point, and via Clifton and Camps Bay. Once in Hout Bay, one route (109) will serve Imizamo Yethu and the main commercial and beachfront areas of Hout Bay, and the other route (108) will serve the harbour and Hangberg.

“We advise users of public transport in Hout Bay, Sea Point and Camps Bay to familiarize themselves with the new MyCiTi routes and services because some Golden Arrow Bus Services (GABS) and minibus-taxis currently operating along these routes will be withdrawn,” said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member: Transport for Cape Town, Councillor Brett Herron.

A number of further MyCiTi routes will also become operational between now and the middle of 2014. A route to Dunoon will start on March 1, the Atlantis service starts on April 5, and the network will extend to Khayelitsha and Mitchells Plain by mid-year.
“The dream of the City’s Transport Authority, Transport for Cape Town (TCT), is to extend the integrated transport system to cover the entire City,” said Councillor Herron.
