Transport for Cape Town (TCT) will activate two new MyCiTi routes in February, linking Hangberg, Imizamo Yethu and Hout Bay to the City Bowl.
The services launch on Saturday, February 15.
Passengers will have a choice of two services; both start at the Civic Centre and run via Sea Point towards Hout Bay, one running via Imizamo Yethu and the other via Hangberg.
The new services are listed as routes 108 and 109.
Route 108 will run from the MyCiTi Civic Centre Station along Main Road through Green Point and Sea Point, Clifton, then Camps Bay on to Llandudno and then towards Hangberg in Hout Bay along Victoria Drive.
Route 109 runs along a similar route and enters Hout Bay along Victoria Drive, with the difference being that it will then split off towards Imizamo Yethu along Hout Bay Rd.
“We are excited to start the New Year with the activation of yet another new route, as we roll out our network of MyCiTi routes across the Peninsula,” said Councillor Brett Herron, Mayoral Committee Member: Transport for Cape Town.
Passengers travelling to Camps Bay, the upper City Bowl and CBD will also have the choice of transferring at two beachfront stops in Camps Bay to the MyCiTi routes that travel over Kloof Nek (106 and 107).
The routes that will operate towards Hout Bay will interlink with routes already operating in and between Sea Point, Fresnaye, the Civic Centre and the Waterfront (routes 104 and 105) which will make travelling between these areas and Hout Bay even easier.
* Information about the schedule for the new routes has been uploaded to the MyCiTi website at www.myciti.org.za.
