Queen’s Plate about more than horse racing and fashion
This weekend will feature one of my favourite events on the horse racing calendar. The L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate 2014 is perfectly positioned at the start of January.
Both Ladies and Gentlemen are required to dress in a manner appropriate for a smart occasion, adhering to the dress code of blue and white. I love this look as it’s clean, crisp and easy to put together. These are real summer and beach colours that come together perfectly. The dress code for this event is very strict.
Ladies are encouraged to wear hats. Gentlemen are requested to dress in a suit or jacket. Casual wear such as t-shirts, jeans, shorts and sports attire are forbidden. This is event is not only about the horse racing or the fashion. The entertainment after the horse racing is also a highlight, and it will take over as the sun sets over Kenilworth Racecourse. The Style Lounge Village Entertainment Marquee will then be transformed into the official after party, showcasing top South African and International DJ’s, so make sure that you experience one of Cape Town’s best parties of the summer.
After his mind-blowing set last year, DJ Fresh will again be gracing Kenilworth Racecourse as the sun goes down, but this time brings one of South Africa’s most successful young dance DJs, Euphonik, along for the ride. If that isn’t enough to get you dancing, after much demand, the line-up for this prestigious event will again include international sensation DJ Lora, an SA export to the UK.
With this line up, race-goers will be partying late into the night. I look forward to seeing you at Kenilworth race course this weekend
