Going places with MyCiTi

Going places with MyCiTi

A new year has arrived and the MyCiTi team is ready as ever to transport you safely, efficiently and reliably across the Mother City.

MyCiTi buses are travelling on several new routes in the Atlantic Seaboard suburbs of Sea Point, Fresnaye, Green Point and Mouille Point as well as around the City Bowl. Routes from the V&A Waterfront to Camps Bay, via the Central City, have also started operating. Existing routes also connect towards the Airport, Table View, Parklands, Blouberg, Big Bay and Melkbosstrand. The website (www.myciti.org.za) shows all routes and schedules.

The City of Cape Town’s transport authority Transport for Cape Town (TCT), celebrated the end of last year with the news that its transport ticketing system – the myconnect card – had been nominated for a MasterCard service excellence award. A lot of hard work has gone into the design and planning of this card payment system, which makes it possible for passengers to use one card to pay for any trip on a MyCiTi bus. The winner will be announced in London at the end of January 2014.

Remember, you need a myconnect card to make use of any of the MyCiTi buses. Call 0800 65 64 63 for information on your closest card retailer. The card will cost you a refundable R25 and you can then load ‘travel money’ on your card which you use to pay for your journey.

If you are lucky enough to still be on holiday, the MyCiTi team stands ready to transport you to many of the Cape’s play spots. And don’t forget that they also provide you with the easiest way of travelling to Cape Town Stadium to attend any of the African Nations Championship matches scheduled between now and the beginning of February 2014.

With MyCiTi, you really will be going places.
