Local singing sensation to perform live for a good cause

Classical-pop singing sensation Selim Kagee will be accompanied by a 21 piece orchestra when he performs at the Baxter Concert Hall on Saturday October 19 in a fundraiser concert for eight year old Leukemia sufferer Gareth Hawkins (from Rondebosch – visit www.boschforgareth.co.za for more information) and for the Santos Football Youth Academy.
Kagee, who released his classical crossover CD ‘Cry for Love (Piango D’Amore)’ last year through EMI, has already made a name for himself in under a year on the local music scene and at various festivals.

Classic Feel Magazine said the following about the singer: “Kagee is an impressive new, proudly South African addition to the adult contemporary and crossover fields of which the four greats (Bocelli, Groban, Pavarotti and Buble) are among the most well-known exemplars.”

Kagee has graced some of Cape Town’s greatest stages and events, including the Suidoosterfees, the Masque Theatre, the Nederburg Estate’s New Year’s Eve Spectacular with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and the Huisgenoot/You Skouspel at Grand West Arena.
He has also recorded with the international female group Celtic Woman.
