On Monday I was asked to MC the media launch of a new prestigious event that will form part of the South African horse racing and social calendar.
The media launch was held on a beautiful working wine farm dating back to 1692 and one of Stellenbosch’s best kept secrets. This exclusive five-star estate took the leap and has become the select partner, agreeing to sponsor this upcoming event.
The media and celebs were introduced to the inaugural Lanzerac Ready To Run Stakes, presented by Cape Thoroughbred Sales, which will open the Western Cape’s horse racing season, and is set to become an annual highlight for all racing enthusiasts.
On Saturday November 23, Kenilworth Racecourse will once again come alive with horse racing enthusiasts, superb entertainment, good food and top class wine, as this glitzy event makes its debut.
The celebs who attended the launch included Katlego Maboe; Siv Ngesi; Leanne Summers; and Thandi Kupe. The team from The Little Hattery, were also in attendance to show media what the dress code would look like on the day.
If you are wondering what to wear to this event, dress code is formal dress. It is requested that gentlemen and ladies dress in a fashion suitable for an upmarket and smart event. Outfits should be stylish and dignified. Gentlemen are requested to dress in a suit or a jacket. Ladies are not obligated to wear a hat or a fascinator, but it is strongly encouraged.
A day at the races is a wonderful occasion and the perfect excuse to don your very best outfit. Gentlemen and ladies are expected to dress in a suitable fashion. The event will provide a variety of delectable food and drink on the day, with Lanzerac wines rounding it off superbly.
