Nature lovers can enjoy the sunset over Table Mountain with views of the Winelands and even a picnic whilst the full moon rises over Klapmutskop on the Delvera Hi-Tec Full Moon hikes that will take place on Friday and Saturday, October 18 and 19.
This 9.75km marked circle route through the vineyards starts at the Trail Centre located on the Delvera Farm.
This will give hikers the unique experience of cutting through the Renosterveld Consevancy and Yellowwood forest to the top of Klapmutskop. It can take up to one and half hours to reach the top so participants should be there no later than 5.45pm to be ensured of the full experience.
To spice things up a bit there will be prize of a pair of Hi-Tec hiking shoes to be won in a lucky draw.
A shuttle service will be available, especially for children. The hike then starts with the single track at the Pepper Tree – this will shorten the route to less than 5km in total. This option will take about 30 minutes to the top.
Hikers should be back at the Trail centre around 8pm to 8.30mp – depending on their walking speed.
The cost includes a shuttle, as well as a map. Participants are advised to bring something warm to wear after dark and a torch, but there will be a selection of Energizer torches available at the Trail Centre as well. Snacks & cooldrinks will also be available for sale at the Trail Centre. Also don’t forget to wear hiking shoes – you will be climbing a mountain, after all.
