Be a Windgat in Pringle Bay this spring

The Tru-Cape Windgat Festival and Kogelberg Mountain Challenge will take place on the weekend of September 6 in Pringle Bay on the R44, just over an hour from Cape Town. Starting with a Trash to Fash – Junk to Funk, recycling fashion show by local eco-school Pringle House on the Friday night, it will be followed by the Tru-Cape Kogelberg Challenge, three staggered road and off-road races with 21.1km starting on Saturday September 7at 7.30am.

Hot coals for the Tru-Cape Best Potjie will be ready from 7am and your potjie must be delicious and ready for sale and judging by 1pm. Funds raised from the sale go to Pringle House School. Prizes include Tru-Cape gift hampers and vouchers. (Call 083 796 5841 for more information.)

Snake and reptile expert Francois van Zyl will entertain and educate children of all ages at 11am on the Saturday at the Pringle House School and, later in the day at 2.30pm, conduct a guided 90-minute fynbos walk in the Brodie Link. Get your apple and pear cakes to Pringle House School by 11am for judging in the Tru-Cape Best Bake competition at 12.30pm.
