Dowwe Dolla flexes her mind muscles for a DVD audience

Fans of Dowwe Dolla can be a part of a small piece of history on Wednesday July 10 at 8pm when a DVD recording of ‘Dowwe Dolla Dink Diep’ takes place at die Boer Theatre Restaurant in Durbanville.
Margit Meyer-Rödenbeck returns in the guise of her larger than life alter ego Dowwe Dolla who by accident discovers two books by Friedrich Nietzsche and Siener van Rensburg amongst her stash of Mills & Boons, specially collected for her “trip” on the Costa Concordia. Dolla starts reading this strange material while she waits to go on board. “Knowledge is power”, writes Nietzsche, but “knowledge without understanding is dangerous” and, predictably, Dolla immediately gets an invite to join the Captain on the bridge.

The rest is history, and as all her fans know, Dolla is a Survivor, but the whole experience and her newfound knowledge makes Dolla think deeply about things such as Alpha males, Twitter, blonde road rage and Nietzsche’s Relativity-theory, or was it Albert Einstein’s? Fans of the lovably dimwitted satirical character should expect plenty of laughs, as well as an insight or two into present-day South African life.
