Day Two of the Western Cape Winter Series will get underway this Saturday June 8 at Kenilworth Racecourse for what’s set to be a popular day at the track.
Unfavourable weather conditions at Kenilworth on Sunday June 2 forced Kenilworth Racing to postpone the event to this weekend and organisers are confident that quality racing, including the Ocean Fresh Winter Classic and Stormsvlei Mile races, as well mega prize giveaways will draw capacity crowds.
Throughout the three tiered Winter Series each race day features a prize draw. This includes three entries for the Grand Prize of a Home Appliance Makeover to the value of R30000 and a Consolation Prize to be drawn on the Final Leg of the Winter Series on June 29.
Race-goers also stand a chance to win a table for two at three Summer Season race days, namely the J+B Met, L’Ormarins Queens Plate and the Chairman’s Cup Lektron Prawn festival valued at R10000.
Aside from these prize giveaways and thrilling trackside racing action throughout the series, the free kids entertainment and an indoor craft and food market should ensure that there’s something for everyone.
Kenilworth Racecourse is also the place to be on Saturday June 15 with a special Father’s Day race day.
Get the family together and treat Dad to a special Father’s Day at the races where he can enjoy complimentary tastings of Glenfiddich Scotch Whisky alongside an action packed racing line-up.
It’s an ideal family day out with free kid’s entertainment to keep the little ones occupied while a reduced price buffet at just R140 per person is a real bargain.
Just days later on Monday June 17 it will be Youth Day at Kenilworth Racecourse and there’s simply no excuse not to take advantage of the free entrance, free entertainment and reduced price buffet available for everyone.
The Winter Series culminates on Saturday June 29 with the Winter Derby and Winter Oaks, so there’s plenty of time to get all your friends and family together and turn up the heat this winter by being trackside at Kenilworth.
