Fresh from his Royal Albert Hall, London performance of A SOUTH AFRICAN STORY, that icon of South African music, Johnny Clegg, brings the Old Mutual Summer Sunset concerts at Kirstenbosch to a spectacular close on Sunday April 7.
Johnny Clegg personifies all that is great on the SA music scene and as a dancer, anthropologist, singer, songwriter, academic, activist and passionate human being has become one of South Africa’s greatest musical exports. Having campaigned over 30 years against the injustice of apartheid South Africa he has been instrumental in putting the new South Africa on the map and is hailed as a cultural ambassador.
Under an African sky Johnny Clegg will once again thrill an audience of all ages offering the thrill of his music and his energy into the garden. Expect to be on your feet for most of the evening! Always one of the most popular acts at this magnificent outdoor venue this concert will be a fitting end to a concert series that has sizzled with the best that SA has to offer.
