Jozi audiences are in for a treat when three of Joburg’s premiere bands share one stage, for one night only, as part of “Fang Bloody Tastic”.
It takes place at Amuse Cafe, Linden on Saturday April 6 from 8pm.
Absinthe, The Fine and recent MK Award winner Shortstraw have joined forces to provide a real party vibe with three completely different sounds to create a unique “one night only” collaboration for Jozi audiences to experience this coming Saturday.
Absinthe is the acoustic rock collaboration between two of the country’s finest powerhouse performers and the lead singers of WONDERboom and Sugardrive, Cito and Paul E Flynn, where they have taken a supper club approach to some of your favourite songs from the last century. The concept is simple. No originals, just covers. (www.absintheband.co.za)
The Fine is a 3-piece Jozi-based outfit with an upbeat indie sensibility that speaks to many influenza and is not of one easily-fingered place. If you could marry the Strokes to the Dave Matthews band, you’d get an idea of where this three-piece is at. (www.reverbnation.com/thefine)
Shortstraw is a 5-piece band that are fast making waves on the national indie music scene in a big way, with the recent accolade of being an MK Award recipient in the Best Indie category. With their simple melodies and catchy rhythms, the outfit take pleasure in rocking the most prominent live music venues and clubs in the country.
Doors open from 3pm and the music begins at 8pm. Entrance fee is just R30 per person and is payable at the door.
