The most beautiful garden in Africa will play host to Mi Casa & Natasha Meister this Easter weekend. These popular performers will take to the stage on Sunday March 31 for the penultimate Old Mutual Summer Sunset concert.
With a concert stage that is overlooked by Table Mountain, many musicians consider performing on this stage to a crowd of 5000 as a pinnacle in their careers and audiences are treated to the best that this country offers. Mi Casa has shot to fame in three short years, scooping up SAMA awards with their soulful house music and showing just how talented South Africa’s musician’s are. Music fans will be able to groove to the blended sound of Mi Casa’s three members, Dr Duda (producer and club DJ), J’Something (vocalist and guitarist) and Mo-T (trumpeter). Warm house beats peppered with jazz trumpet and a fresh twist of soul, the Mi Casa sound recipe is rich and authentic.
No stranger to the Kirstenbosch stage Natasha Meister will open the show and, having been named SA’s very own Blues Queen, this singer/songwriter already has a strong fan base. In the three years since returning from Canada to South Africa she has carved a strong niche for herself as a consummate blues performer. Soon after her first overseas tour in Dubai with Jimmy Thomas, Michael Roach and The Crossroads band, Meister became South Africa’s first woman to be endorsed by legendary guitar makers Fender.
The Old Mutual Summer Sunset Concerts take place at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden (RhodesDrive , Newlands, Cape Town) on Sundays from 5.30pm to 7pm.
Gates open at 4pm.
