Health & Beauty: Hair revamp

Health & Beauty: Hair revamp

By Roxy K

Having a new cut or even just high-lights can transform a person in an instant. The style of your hair can affect your confidence, the way you feel and even your career. Choosing a hair stylist can be quite a task because there are so many out there. The best way is to investigate, read up about the salon you will want to visit and ask around.  You would want someone that understands your needs and has the time to enhance your hair colour. Many salons have a queue waiting and that can lead to them rushing the whole process, leaving you with colour that has stained your skin and a cut that you did not even ask for.

My unforgettable experience was at Palladium Hair Co at the Cape Quarter. The warm reception makes you feel instantly at ease. Everyone is happy and the music gets you into a good mood. A stylist meets you to discuss your style and your colour choice. You are constantly guided throughout the whole process. Every detail is taken into account: the dryness of your hair, the shape of your face and the texture of your hair. My hair was washed and then treated with a follicle enhancer, which nourishes the hair.

Only the best products are used to give your hair the nourishment it needs. A suitable cut was done, followed by a few highlights; just to give the hair an extra glow and shine. After a thorough rinse, the stylist does his magic with the hairdryer. He makes it look so easy – it is almost like art in motion. There are no shortcuts, nor is there any rush to finish the process. Every step was done to perfection. The basic steps to beautiful hair is to first shampoo, condition with a good nourishing conditioner and treat hair follicles to stimulate re-growth. Always use a heat treatment when using a hair iron or blow-drying, this will prevent the hair from drying out and becoming brittle.

While I waited for twenty five minutes for the colour to take effect, I was treated to a manicure and full hand massage. This made me fall into a deep state of relaxation. The atmosphere at Palladium is happy, casual and relaxed. Everyone is passionate about what they do, right from the shampooer to the hair stylist. I will go back because I know that these are people that care and go the extra mile to make you feel and look great. My experience has taught me not to be afraid to experiment with different styles, colours and cuts. Your hair reflects the person that you are and if a red or grey colour makes you feel bold, then go for it, because you have the power to define the way you look.
I spoke to Jenny Morris about her thoughts on Palladium Hair.

What makes your experience at Palladium Hair special?
The fact that everything they do they do with excellence. Fom the front of house to the people on the floor take pride in what they do. The service is consistently good and the music is wonderful too.

Do you have a favourite stylist or treatment to share with the readers?
Graham and Clint normally do my hair, but everyone on the floor does a good job! Treasures does the best manicures and pedicures on earth. You simply have to have a Palladium pamper.
