GeForce GTX Titan
Nvidia, the graphics hardware specialists, have recently announced that they will be releasing the GeForce Titan in South Africa as well. Now, we all know Nvidia to be the best when it comes down to computer graphics cards but they have taken this to a whole new level.
The Titan is claimed to be powered by the fastest Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) currently available. It will be available on both desktop as well as on small factor computers. So what does it have that other cards don’t? The card contains 7 billion transistors, 2.668 GPU’s and delivers 4.5 teraflops of processing power. If that’s not enough, you could even run two of these cards in SLI mode. That is a lot of graphics processing power. The price has been announced and South African gamers can be expected to pay R12899 for one of these graphics cards, available by order at most good computer stores already.

‘God of War: Ascension’
Yes, ladies and gentlemen we have another ‘God Of War’ game. This one has been announced to be in stores by March 13. The new game will take gamers back to the origins of Kratos. The franchise has been around for a while and fans will be happy with the new offering from SCE (Sony Computer Entertainment).

Martin Jetpack
As recently as a few years back we would have seen a jetpack in a movie and half of us would have said it will never happen, but true Sci Fi fans kept hope alive. The idea continued to haunt the dreams of engineers and at last someone has made one that might soon be available to the public.
The Martin Jetpack has been developed by Glenn Martin, of Martin Aircraft Company, and an enthusiastic team of engineers. It uses an efficient propulsion system and modern composite materials to help individuals achieve personal flight. Redefining the name Jet Pack, Martins system makes use of ducted fans powered by a conventional petrol engine. On a full tank of fuel one can fly for 30 minutes.
Their jetpacks, though working, have to still go through strict tests and final refinement before they can sell them, so it may take a little while longer. We can’t wait for these to come to South Africa.
