Enjoy the attractions of Cape Town this summer with the comfort and convenience of MyCiTi. Get a myconnect card, load it with money and travel. It is just the start of an ever-expanding public transport network, that will eventually cover the entire Peninsula.
Your options for December ’12 and January ’13 are many.
For instance, catch the bus to Blouberg. Savour sundowners along this scenic sunset strip or catch a wave at Blouberg Beach (yes, your surfboards are welcome on the bus). Change at Table View to the F14 route.
Or for the lovers of the outdoors, why not pack a picnic and head for Green Point Urban Park? Get off at Stadium Station.
The party animals can hit the happening spots of Long and Loop streets and get home safely with MyCiTi.
There is an option for the fitness fanatics, too. Get up early and cycle from the central city to the end of the newly extended cycle lane at Sandown Road, Parklands along the scenic seafront. Watch the pelicans on Flamingo Vlei and enjoy breakfast, before cycling back; or catch the bus from Table View and whizz back to town on the red lane.
MyCiTi buses now run one hour later on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays during the festive season. The last departure from the Civic Centre station to Table View will be at 11pm.
There will also be a special New Year’s service with the last bus departing from the V&A Waterfront at 1am and connecting at Civic Centre with services to Table View, Gardens and Salt River.
For the all-nighters the first bus departs from the Civic Centre to Table View at 6.05am on New Year’s day. To accommodate these extended hours, Civic Centre and Table View station kiosks will remain open until 11pm on weekends and public holidays.
Get your myconnect card for R23 and load with money at MyCiTi stations, participating retailers and cash-accepting Absa ATMs.
