iTunes Store in SA
A large population of South Africans use Apple products, from the humble iPod Classic, to iPads and Macbooks. However with Apple, as many users would know, to get content like music and applications one has to visit the iTunes store. Now, we have all been signing up to the international store to get our devices running. This required the odd converting from dollars to Rands all the time when you want to buy something. Also, it was a little difficult to get local music and home grown applications available in South Africa.
Well, there is good news. Apple has announced that they will be launching an iTunes store in South Africa. This follows the launch of Simfy, which offers unlimited music streaming and downloads for a flat fee.
Both stores are brilliant in terms of content availability. The App store has more than 700000 apps and over 20 million songs available. The positive I see in this is that local artist will be able to list their music much more easily on the iTunes store.
Corvettes for ‘Gran Turismo’:
The age old classic Corvette sports car has been in production by Chevrolet for years. Each year brings a new revision or shape to this timeless classic. Now the next few lines should really capture the attention of the ‘Gran Turismo’ fans: us PlayStation 3 users will get the ultimate chance to be a part of Corvette history. ‘Gran Turismo’ players will be able to download the Corvette C7 prototype to use in their game, the latest Corvette only available to a handful of people in the world. Chevrolet and Polyphony Digital, developers of ‘Gran Turismo’, have come up with this collectively and promise gamers an experience to remember.
‘Gran Turismo’ is doing some big things this year following the Nissan GTR competition – winner gets to race the real car and become a real racing driver. Big thanks to ‘Gran Turismo’ for pushing the boundaries in the gaming world.
