The Re-Visioning Dance Festival has opened the doors of The Wits Downstairs Theatre this week to anyone and everyone who is interested in alternative ways of viewing the moving body in performance. Audiences can catch performances until Friday October 19 from 7.30pm.
This year the festival is exploring the genre of screendance, dance for film and works made specifically for camera.
The films within the program present innovative and provocative work by students, young professionals and established professionals. The line-up includes works by WITS students Tumelo Maloka and Nomfundo Vete, Kwanele “Finch” Thusi from KZN University, Rhodes University’s PHD student Sonja Smit, Lindsay McDonald and a work by Jessica Denyschen in collaboration with Stash The Suitcase Collective.
* Entry is free.
