Due to unprecedented demand, the new cabaret ‘StarStruck’ will add another night of dinner-show production on Friday October 19 at 7pm at the Canard Restaurant, 163 Rivonia Road, Sandton.
‘Starstruck’ offers audiences a night at the musicals with Samantha Peo paying tribute to the divas in an evening of intimate cabaret. Some of the songs fans of the genre can look forward to from smash hit Broadway shows include ‘Over The Rainbow’, ‘Big Spender’, ‘Fame’, ‘Let’s Do The Time Warp’, ‘All That Jazz’, ‘Maybe This Time’, ‘Cabaret’ and ‘Cry Me A River’.
Most recently Peo has attracted critical acclaim for her lead role in ‘Cabaret’, which enjoyed an extended tour in Cape Town after a sell-out season at Montecasino. Previous musical career highlights include leads in ‘Chicago’, ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’ and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Aspects of Love’.
Joining Peo on keyboards is Clifford Cooper, who is also the Musical Director of the show. He also has an illustrious pedigree, having worked with legends Judy Page, Cathy Specific and Cirque du Soleil, and musical direction for ‘Beauty and the Beast’ in London.
Patrons will be able to enjoy a specially designed 4-course menu with musical influences, paired with the award-winning wines of Saltare Boutique Winery, presented by winemaker Carla Pauw.
Performances on Saturday and Sunday October 20 and 21 have all been sold out.
