Good news for fans of Andre the Hilarious Hypnotist. The performer has finally returned to the Victory Theatre after an absence from the theatre of more than 20 years. The man who set sold-out attendance records at ‘The Victory’ and filled many theatres around the country makes a welcome return to the city which launched his career.
Known for the ability to take members of the audience and get them to perform eccentric stunts while under his spell, Andre will be performing until October 14 with a special show the entire family can enjoy.
Celebrating his 21st year on stage, Andre has expressed his joy at performing in the town he’s dubbed the ‘Facebook Stalkers’ as he replies to daily requests for his dates in Johannesburg.
Suggestions from audiences in his shows range from the strange (playing invisible instruments in a band) to the somewhat outrageous (thinking you are a bee trying to work your way into a tin) and that is just the start of two hours of orchestrated chaos, under careful control of Andre’s hypnotic talents.
For those wishing to volunteer but not wanting to miss the show, Andre promises two free tickets if you were part of the action, and DVDs are available to the public after each performance.
* Shows are at 8pm Monday to Saturday and Sunday at 3pm. Tickets are R100 per person.
