If you’re a Motown fan who loves soul then don’t miss out on The Black Ties and their last two performances at The Baxter Concert Hall (Main Road, Rondebosch) this Friday and Saturday night July 20 and 21 at 8pm on both evenings.
After sold out concerts during their recent national tour, The Black Ties, a power vocal trio comprised of Mother City favorites Chad Saaiman, Lloyd Jansen and Keeno Lee, are set to funk out once more in a tribute to soul with an abundance if hits from classic groups like The Temptations and artists like Marvin Gaye.
Along with the old school, the concert will also feature new age soul music by artists such as Cee Lo Green, a combination that is set to get your feet moving to the groove. Expect showmanship and high energy as The Black Ties are joined on stage by Sasha-Lee from Goodhope FM, Lucy Tops and a full seven piece band.
In 2006, when three of South Africa’s premier entertainers came together to start something new, no one could have anticipated the magic that would happen along the way. Mischievous, charming and very talented, The Black Ties, formerly known as Soul, have harnessed their ability to add a “touch of wonderful” to even the most popular cover track.
After the success of their debut single ‘Love Come Down’, the boys have just released their very first original record, ‘Jump’, which was produced by the acclaimed, Mr. Mallum. Described as a modern Rock ’n Roll/Soul sing-along, the new single is set to win over a host of new fans.
