The world famous touring family production has taken South Africa by storm with its first visit to the country. Feld Entertainment’s ‘Disney On Ice – Worlds of Fantasy’, which brings to life four favourite Disney stories with dazzling skating, special effects and beloved characters, sold out the Coca-Cola Dome (Africa’s largest indoor arena) eight times in one weekend, an achievement never witnessed before.
Capetonians will get their taste of the ice spectacular at the CTICC from Friday July 6 to Tuesday July 10.
“We knew the power of the Disney brand, and we knew the quality of this spectacular family show, but the response from South African audiences has been nothing short of breath-taking. This creates a wonderful foundation for the future”, says Sam Hendrikse, CEO of Hunta Live,
Disney On Ice has become a household name in more than 70 countries over the past 30 years, and ‘Disney On Ice – Worlds of Fantasy’ offers the perfect combination of elements for fans – from the contemporary feel of ‘Cars’ and ‘Toy Story 3’ to the timeless quality of ‘The Little Mermaid’ and ‘Tinker Bell’.
“‘Disney On Ice – Worlds of Fantasy’ is a dazzling show with amazing special effects and world-class skaters, who come together to tell classic Disney stories with the beloved Disney characters,” says Christine Service, Country Manager Africa for Disney. “The show is a great example of our commitment to bringing high quality entertainment to South Africa and we are thrilled that the show has proved to be such a big hit with families in Gauteng.”
