Celebrate for a cause and shop for a cure

Cape Town’s annual Celebrate Life festival celebrates its tenth birthday this year with some very special events, speakers and workshops.

What’s it all about? The festival is a platform for exploring organisations and ideas that enrich and give pause for thought. Eclectic, funky and fun, the festival has lots to offer everyone.
Come and spoil your body, stretch your mind and feed your spirit at this years’ festival from June 9 to 10, at the River Club on Liesbeek Parkway, Observatory between 10am and 5pm on both days. The focus is on all things healthy, sustainable and promoting a celebration of life. Both days include speakers, demonstrations, workshops and stalls to browse through.

This year’s festival will also include a fabulous fashion show in aid of breast cancer awareness, supported by CANSA. Fashions from Akliviti and African Designs, shoes by Coast and hair by Savas will feature. Lighting and techno displays will be by Liesel Lochner.

There will also be a photographic exhibition and a fashion show in aid of breast cancer. Join in on the free yoga, tai chi, dance, drumming, spirit release and tarot workshops and listen to a concert. Enjoy amazing speakers, both local and international. Free face painting for kids and a film festival in conjunction with Exploring Consciousness will take place from June 15 to 21.
This is a weekend for the whole family to enjoy and it includes children’s activities aplenty. Secure parking is available on site.

* Entry is R60 per day, or R100 for weekend pass. Children under 12 enter for free; students and pensioners pay half price. Book at Computicket or pay at the gate.
The full programme can be seen at www.celebratelife.co.za, or pick it up in your local health store. Send an email to info@celebratelife.co.za for more information, or call 021 762 3965.
