Somewhere on the Border

Written in exile, intercepted in the post and banned as a publication by apartheid censorship because the language was considered “offensive” and the portrayal of the South African armed forces “prejudicial to the safety of the state”, Anthony Akerman’sSomewhere on the Border was hailed by the Argus as “the toast of the Grahamstown Festival” when it opened in 1986.

Coward & Cole

Noël Coward and Cole Porter were two of the leading and most prolific artists of the twentieth century. Illusionist Wayne Houchin

Houchin, a USA magician and performance artist, is well known in his home country for his defying feats. He made his debut  as a  teenager by escaping from a regulation straitjacket while hanging upside-down 50 feet in the air over a blocked off intersection packed with thousands of people.

CT International Ballet Competition

The third Cape Town International Ballet Competition is a contest for outstanding dancers from ages 15 to 28 years, professional and amateur. They compete for gold, silver and bronze medals and monetary prizes in classical ballet and contemporary divisions. At the two gala performances the top contestants will perform alongside other distinguished international and SA ballet stars.
