Celebrities, Media and bloggers from all around South Africa descended on Cape Town last week, but it wasn’t for the J&B Met only. It was also for the launch of L’Oreal Maybelline’s new Mascara.
The launch was held at Hip House Penthouse in Loop Street and the theme was Safari in The City. The fashion was interpreted in many different ways, with leopard print being the main order of the day.
It wasn’t only a launch that captured the hearts of many women, as there were a few men in the audience as well.
TV Presenter Janez Vermeiren was there to support his girlfriend, Juliana Vasconcelos, who modeled in the fashion show and had begged him not to attend as she said she’d feel too nervous if he was in the audience. Other men on hand were rugby player Percy Montgomery and presenter Katlego Maboe, I had a chance to chat to both of them and was very surprised at their knowledge of what women keep in their makeup bags. They knew exactly what mascara, foundation and shadows are used for.
Radio and television presenter Jen Su looked amazing in a colorful leopard print creation and was one of the best dressed celebs at the event. Mom to be and presenter Kia Johnson also had on a lovely outfit.
Table Mountain created a beautiful backdrop for this event and didn’t fail to impress those in attendance from Johannesburg. It was the perfect event to lead up to the J&B Met, and a lovely way to introduce a new brand to the South African public.
